Woman and childPart of our mission at ATEL Air is to give back. Being in a community means being a part of it, and that’s why we were pleased to be able to provide free services to the Naomi’s Family Resource Centre in Winchester.

This not-for-profit organization continuously provides shelter to women who have experienced any and all kinds of abuse. Their HVAC system is essential to their shelter, and was in need of professional maintenance.

We provided services for their furnaces and air conditioners at no cost to the centre. It was our small way of providing some support for the abused women who will be there throughout the year.

Naomis Family Centre Letter
ATEL received a kind thank you letter from Naomi’s Family Resource Centre. We were happy to be able to provide our services to them.

About Naomi’s Family Resource Centre

Founded in 1987, Naomi’s Family Resource Centre provides safe, secure, and emergency shelter to women, with or without children, who have been abused in any way.

Naomi’s Family Resource Centre offers a variety of services, including:

  • Shelter Services – this includes food, counselling, advocacy, referrals, and other necessities.
  • Children and Youth Programs – these programs are for children ages 0-16, and for 6 week periods while women are at the Centre. The purpose of these programs is to provide resources and tools to children who have grown up in an abusive situation.
  • A 24/7 Crisis Line – this line provides counselling, emotional support, information and referrals for all women who have experienced any kind of abuse. It is also for friends and family of these women.
  • Women’s Groups – these support groups are free, and provide women with a safe environment where they can talk freely, and have access to practical tools and resources that will help them in their everyday life.

These services are all provided free of charge, and are open to women in the Stormont, Glengarry, and Dundas counties of Ontario.

While partial funding comes from the Ministry of Community and Social services, this organization relies heavily on donations from the surrounding communities.
