Dwayne Fawcett Heating and Cooling consultantChoosing a new furnace or air conditioner isn’t easy.

There are so many options in today’s market, it’s made the process even harder for homeowners.

But when you have the right person helping you, choosing the right system for your home can be a breeze.

Whether it’s your first time buying a new system, or your third, you’ll benefit from having someone like Dwayne Fawcett in your corner.

An Advisor Who Takes The Time to Listen

Dwayne has been in the HVAC industry since the early 1980s, but he joined the ATEL team in 2012. “I grew up in the area, and when I was told about the position at ATEL, it was such an amazing opportunity,” Dwayne says.

He already knows a lot about home comfort, but there’s always more to learn. “I participate in about 3-4 courses a year, and is fully certified by the Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute (HRAI) on everything from heat calculations to residential air system design.”

“We have the knowledge and experience, but when there’s something new, we want to be on top of it,” Dwayne explains. “I like learning – or upgrading!”

Since day one, Dwayne has loved coming to work. “I just get to go out and focus on my job. I’m a comfort advisor: I meet with homeowners, visit their homes, and design a system for them.”

This is a responsibility Dwayne take seriously. “When I go into a home, I’m there for the homeowner,” he explains. “I listen to theirs needs and wants, and give them advice based on that information. For example, say they want a more energy efficient furnace: I’ll recommend a system with a higher rating. I advise them on what makes sense, and why it makes sense.”

The No-Rush, Personal Touch

A no-rush combination of personal and professional is what makes Dwayne a popular guy to work with for heating and cooling. “Just recently, a couple was in the process of building their new home. It’s their first time being homeowners, and they were so excited about it. They met with a lot of contractors, and asked for a lot of quotes on various systems,” he says.

“I took the time to give them a thorough overview of their options, answer their questions, do up the quotes, and answer more of their questions after they got the quotes,” Dwayne continues. “They called and told me that they had decided to work with ATEL, not because we had the lowest bill, but because I took the time to give them the answers that helped them understand what they were buying.”

“That felt really good,” Dwayne says. “It’s great to know that you’re a big part of the reason they want to work with your company.”

A People-Person Focused on the People

For Dwayne, answering questions is part of the fun. “I’m not an office guy,” Dwayne shares. “It’s going to the homeowners and working with them that gets me excited about my job. I find it incredibly easy to talk to everyone.”

It can be overwhelming for some homeowners to pick a new furnace or air conditioner, especially if they aren’t familiar with the different options. “It’s important to be able to read people and make the experience as easy as possible,” Dwayne explains.

“I always chat with my customers first” he says. “It’s through talking that you can figure out what kinds of questions to ask, and eventually what recommendations to make. I’m focused on building lasting, happy relationships with my customers, and leaving them with no unanswered questions.”

ATEL is About Quality and Positivity

Dwayne isn’t the only one taking time and delivering results. “At ATEL, I think what makes a difference is our commitment to professional, personal service. We have a smart dress code, we’re clean and tidy in a home, and we take our time.”

“We won’t just leave at quitting time: we’ll continue working until it’s done, even if we have to come back the next day, or work an hour over the quoted time,” Dwayne explains. “It’s important to us that we never leave anyone without the necessary amenities, like heat and hot water.”

For Dwayne, the real joy of coming into the office everyday (when he’s not visiting a homeowner) is the atmosphere. “Everyone is so positive, and that means a lot to me. You have to love your job. My family couldn’t believe the difference in me when I started working here.”

When The Work Is Done

In his spare time, Dwayne loves to be outdoors. He and his wife visit their cabin almost every weekend, and he feeds the deer there every week. When they aren’t at the cabin, he enjoys visiting their grown children.
