It may be a couple seasons away, but ATEL has already officially signed up as a sponsor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Kemptville Ribfest.
ATEL Started Sponsoring Last Spring
“We started sponsoring the event last spring,” says ATEL’s president, Jimmie Thom. Not only did they sponsor the event, but Jimmie went to see what it was all about.
“It was very good. We got to eat good food, see a lot of people we know, see lots of families having fun. And it was interesting to stand in line and watch everything be prepared,” he adds.
Jimmie’s favourite part of attending Kemptville Ribfest? “Definitely the ribs,” he laughs.
Big Brothers Big Sisters an Important Group in the Community
Big Brothers Big Sisters Leeds and Grenville is dedicated to providing high-quality programs and mentorship to youth in the area to help them reach their potential as individuals and as community members.
“What’s great about Big Brothers Big Sisters is…it helps somebody that needs somebody. It’s important to have the family atmosphere, that support,” Jimmie explains.
It’s one of the reasons ATEL chose to be a sponsor again. “This is definitely going to help people,” he says.
Kemptville Ribfest is one of the biggest events organized by Big Brothers Big Sisters, which depends on the generosity of local business and the community to fund its mission.
Kemptville Ribfest – More Than Just Ribs
Kemptville Ribfest is an all-ages, all-fun event. “We’ll definitely be attending next year,” Jimmie says. “The ribs were great – lots of sauce and finger licking.”
While ribs may be the main event, there’s plenty to do there that doesn’t involve extra napkins, including:
- A Kid Zone, complete with bouncy houses and games
- A beer tent
- Live music
There’s also a rib eating contest – but you’ll definitely want extra napkins for that.
Mark Your Calendars for Spring 2018

We hope to see you there!
